Frequently asked questions.

Do you take my insurance?

I do not work directly with insurance companies. However, I can provide you with a receipt for each session that can be submitted to your insurance company. I encourage you to contact your insurance company and ask (1) what coverage they have for out-of-network providers, (2) whether there are any limits on the number of visits per calendar year, and (3) how much the company will reimburse per session. It is your responsibility to understand your insurance coverage.

How do I get started?

If we both agree it sounds like a good fit after our free 15 minute phone consultation, we will schedule a time to meet for our first 50 minute session via Telehealth on Doxy.me (the link to my virtual waiting room is below).

Do I have to download a program to meet for our session?

Nope! When it’s time for our session, all you need to do is click the link for my virtual waiting room. I will be notified that you are waiting, and I will start the session at our scheduled time. We use the same link for every session. It’s that easy!

Is Telehealth Therapy secure?

Yes. Doxy.me is HIPAA compliant. All data is encrypted, your sessions are anonymous, and no information is ever stored. It is your responsibility to be in a private and secure room when our session is being held.

I don't want someone overhearing our sessions. How can I have an effective and discrete session on Telehealth?

You are responsible for finding a confidential space for the duration of our therapy session. If you have difficulty finding privacy at home, a noise machine or music playing outside your room can be effective. Public spaces like parks, coffee shops or airports are not acceptable. I will always be in a confidential setting with a noise machine at my door for added privacy.

I’ve never been diagnosed with OCD but I feel like I might have it. Would I still benefit from your therapy?

Many people with anxiety have obsessive compulsive tendencies that we can also address with ERP therapy. Whether or not you have an OCD diagnosis, we can work together to change the patterns of thought and behavior that are no longer serving you.
